So, this is what Saturday's are for....
Dirty, diggin' in the dirt, working with daddy kind of Saturdays...don't you just love those dirty hands! I couldn't resist...and the tongue while working hard to make your "gun" from legos! Oh how I love you my boy! These days you love to use new words like "juicy", and "sour"! You surprise us every day, even on days when I lose my cool because you want to "do it" in your own time!

Weekend fun!!!

We had such a good weekend....just got back in town!!! I will tell you more about that soon, but I had to get this sneak peek out to our dear friends tonight! I had the priviledge to take these little cuties' pictures just this morning....I had to pick out my very favorite, but can't decide between black and white or the color!!!

Catching Dragonflies....

He convinces his little brother they are going to catch dragonflies with old torn fishing nets they found in the barn. They are going to catch them because they have never touched a live dragonfly. He tells me they will capture four and put them in glass jars. We will put them in our bedrooms so we can look at them and enjoy their beauty.After some time he comes running up to me. Mom, he says with disappointment in his voice, I didn't know dragonflies were so fast.Another bittersweet moment and I suddenly stop and really listen to my son. I know all about fast, little one. Those dragonflies have nothing on the speed of the days and months and years that are slipping by. My little babies are suddenly little boys. Another day, another gray hair, another realization that these are the memories I will put away in my mind and dust off in the later years when the house is quiet, clean, and sometimes a bit lonely.The computer is calling, laundry is piling up, the dishwasher needs to be unloaded, bills need to be paid, the news drones on in the background and it seems mostly bad.But wait. Perhaps I will grab a chair, sit down, and enjoy watching two little boys chasing their dreams of beautiful dragonflies in glass jars softly beating their wings. Just breathe.

Breathe, just breathe!!! I so need to just breathe!!!

Sneak Peek!!! Fall pics!

I wanted you to see an updated version of our family photo shoot!!! A precious photog friend of mine agreed to photo swap...so I could get a decent family picture...you know how hard that is with two little ones!!??? Major Undertaking!!!!

And this would be why our summer was so busy...this was our first major project we did at the new house...."Paw, Paw" offered to help J build our very own basketball court in our back yard. I don't think anyone knew what a big project it would be ....I mean, how hard can it be to pour a slab of concrete right?? RIGHT!!!! I still have yet to post a pic of the court under the LIGHTS, but it sure has been fun, and to be honest, we have used it more over the last couple of weeks than I thought we would...the boys love it and have invented ways to play on the slab other than just Basketball!!! I think my BIG boy loves it too! :)

This is a couple of weeks later after the gravel has been poured, and now prepwork for the cement begins!!! I think they recruited some help since it's such hard work!

Happy Halloween!!!

Ok, we're back!!! I know, it's been crazy busy, and to be honest the blog was put on the back burner for a long while...we're just getting to where we can have people over again, boxes away, a majority of the major projects done, and just living life each day!

Halloween weekend was great...busy, but good! We had a great time even with a few cuts and scrapes...all because mommy needed a Halloween picture with her new lens!!!! Little E was a trooper...only cried for about 30 seconds...we just couldn't get there fast enough on the porch before little man tobbled over and scraped his head on the cement! Pictures were done immediately, until later...notice the second set of pictures were "safer" in the grass, complete with "BOO, BOO" on head and all! :) Boys, boys, boys!!! More tumbles and scrapes to snuggle and kiss!

Just a picture for the record of again, more blessings that come every day with this house. Awhile back I remember thinking that I would love a tree that just BURNS in the fall in my front yard...not knowing even what trees "Burn", we obviously picked this house, and low and behold, this fall, I just happened to get blessed with a BURNING tree!!! Love it...here's a snapshot of the front of our porch, all fall, and ready for Halloween! Glad I got this picture when I did, because the next day, the leaves all started to get crunchy, and fall off!!!
